Koppakleer tablets are a refined quality carrageenan product added to the wort to improve protein removal as it cools. Koppakleer requires only a short boiling period to disperse and can be added to the whirlpool when it is not possible to interrupt boiling or open the kettle.

Koppakleer granules can enhance fermentation and attenuation rates while also reducing processing time and tank losses.

Quantità

Dosage indication: 0,5-1,5 tablets /HL. However, the producer recommends testing on your wort to determine the optimal dose for your recipe.

Koppakleer Tablets should be added to the kettle at the end of the boil or to the whirlpool if this is not possible (don't boil for more than 5 min). This allows the tablet to dissolve and disperse the carrageenan into the wort. Should Koppakleer be added early in the boil, then degradation of the polymer may occur and product efficiency is lost. The reaction between wort proteins and carrageenan is pH dependant and occurs at an optimum pH of 5.3. Below pH 4.4 little benefit is gained from using Kettle finings.
