The Rakau™ is a triploid hop reintroduced in 2007, designed to combine effective bitterness and an expressive aromatic profile. With an average α-acid content of 10–11%, it works as a clean bittering hop while offering a very rich fruity palette when used in late additions or dry hopping.
It is dominated by a high essential oil content, with 56% myrcene, enhancing aromas of apricot, plum, mango, pear, and stone fruits, complemented by subtle hints of lime and pine.
Versatile, Rakau™ can be used in boiling, whirlpool, or dry hopping and is suitable for IPA, Pale Ales, NEIPA, as well as modern lagers or light ales, providing balanced bitterness and a deep fruity expression.
