Rice hulls (or rice husks) ads a more fiberous structure to the mash and therefor allows better filtration of the beer during sparging. Especially in a grist with a high percentage of wheat malt/flakes or other adjuncts like rye or oats, the rice huill can prevent a stuck mash. The rice hulls have no influence on diastatic power of the mash and does not add any flavour or color to the wort.
Natural rice husk steam cooked for filtration of alimentary product.
